2008 CompareRewards.com Study Ranks Extrabux.com as a Top Shopping Rewards Web Site for the Second Year in a Row; "Outstanding Program" is Great News for the Growing Number of Holiday Shoppers Seeking Savings Online

The fifth annual CompareRewards.com study of online shopping reward programs, authored by consumer advocate Becky Ford, ranked Extrabux.com among the top three sites for the second year in a row. That's great news for shoppers seeking to save money on holiday gifts in a tight economy.

LOS ANGELES, CA, November 07, 2008 /E-commerce PR News/ -- The fifth annual CompareRewards.com study of online shopping reward programs, authored by consumer advocate and online shopping guru Becky Ford, ranked Extrabux.com among the top three sites for the second year in a row. Ford lauded Extrabux.com as "an overall outstanding rewards program" that pays either the highest or the second-highest cash back rate for 59% of the stores sampled by the survey. That's great news for shoppers seeking to save money on holiday gifts in a tight economy.

"We are honored to be ranked in the top three for the second year in a row in CompareRewards.com's annual comparison of shopping rewards programs," said Jeff Nobbs, CEO and co-founder of Extrabux.com. "We consider Becky Ford's rankings an important benchmark, and it's gratifying to know that we are continuing to do a great job helping online shoppers save money."

In her study, Ford notes that "Extrabux.com rewards for shopping at over 775 stores total, and of the 135 I analyzed, they offered the highest cash back rate for 53 stores (39%). For an additional 27 merchants, they had the second-highest cash back rate. So in total, 59% of the time Extrabux.com pays the highest or second-highest cash back available. That's amazing, folks." The full analysis and details of the survey are available on CompareRewards.com.

The National Retail Foundation reports that the average U.S. consumer plans to spend a total of $832.36 on holiday-related expenses this year, up just 1.9% from 2007. However, a Forrester Research report released in October says that spending online is expected to increase by 12%. "In other words," says Ford, "people will be spending a greater proportion of their limited holiday budgets online this year."

To help all those online holiday shoppers save even more, Extrabux.com will launch an enhanced site in November with a powerful comparison-shopping feature. Extrabux.com members will be able to search for gifts and compare prices among hundreds of online retailers. With new participating stores being added every week, Extrabux.com expects to offer more than a thousand retailers by the end of 2008.

Extrabux.com will be the first comparison-shopping site to factor in coupons and cash back rebates, allowing shoppers to make comprehensive price comparisons without visiting multiple sites or doing their own calculations. The enhanced site will combine the retail price, shipping, sales tax, coupons, and of course Extrabux.com cash back, to calculate the lowest price available from a reputable online merchant.

Membership at Extrabux.com is free and online registration is quick and easy; all that is needed to get started is an email address. Once registered, members can use the site to save year-round at hundreds of online stores, including such popular sites as Apple, eBay, Wal-Mart, Disney and Expedia.
